The airport is around 10-15 minutes from the Elizabeth Manor Guest House. There are plenty of taxis available at the airport or to go to the airport. It generally costs around $25-$30. Here are a few:

Check in is any time after 2:00 PM. Check out is 10:00 AM. We facilitate early check-ins as possible and prior check-in baggage drops. If you booked online, we send an email within 5 days of your arrival with all information including door codes for that check-in day.
Military Road and Gower Street have free parking 24/7. It is also free to park along the black picket fence across the street on the gravel road. There is very convenient parking at the St. Thomas Church in their well-lit parking lot, directly across the street. We have pre-purchased passes at a discounted price of $10 for 24 hours.
We serve a delicious breakfast every day in the high season at Elizabeth Manor Guest House which is from mid-May to mid-October. We offer local pastries and breakfast items from local bakeries, local Newfoundland eggs and milk, and locally roasted coffees. There are also several breakfast restaurants within walking distance of Elizabeth Manor including Coffee Matters (a 1-minute walk to the East) and the Bagel Café (a 5-minute walk down Cochrane Street to Duckworth Street, and East along Duckworth near the corner of Duckworth and Prescott Street). Rocket Bakery is another favourite, and is a 15-minute walk to its location on Water Street
No, we don’t have a lift/elevator. Harbour Grace is located on the first floor which requires no stairs. Access to other rooms does require steps that should be considered by guests with walking aids. Reach out to us prior to booking and we will be happy to assist in assigning the best room based on any mobility challenges.
We require 7 days notice from May 15th to October 15th. On multiple room bookings, a non-refundable deposit may be required. We encourage you to obtain trip interruption insurance privately if you have concerns. Most major credit cards have trip interruption insurance. St. John’s is remote and is subject to extreme weather that can restrict flights and ferries. Elizabeth Manor cannot be responsible for missed reservations due to weather events or changed plans. We always do our best to replace bookings to avoid charging if you cancel without the required notice. We want you to love your experience!
Icebergs are best viewed in late May and early June along the coast of Newfoundland, and between March and July along the coast of Labrador.
The best times to see whales and go whale watching in Newfoundland is from mid-May to September, with the peak season being from mid-July to mid-August.
From the Elizabeth Manor Guest House, you can head to Bay Bulls, just south of St. John’s.
For iceberg and whale tours, go west on Water Street and continue straight, always staying to your left at any intersection. This will lead you to Waterford Bridge Road. Continue straight until you reach Corpus Christie Church and take the bridge on your left onto the highway. Go left and continue straight towards Kilbride. This is Highway 10 which will take you to Witless Bay/Bay Bulls. Watch for O’Brien’s Boat Tours.
