Room was spacious and comfortable, with its own bathroom (Twillingate Room); very bright with two windows and plenty of closet/shelf space and drawers to use (a real boon if you happen to be visiting in cooler months with heavier clothing}. There was an ample supply of towels and washcloths with good quality locally sourced soap, shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. My room was on the third floor so be aware that you might be doing stairs (depending on which room you choose) but Rob and Brenda were helpful with luggage, if needed. Service from the hosts is outstanding...friendly, helpful, like being greeted by long lost relatives (who are happy to see you). Breakfast is a good mix of social time and quiet, if you wish it. A spacious, glass walled deck is off the kitchen for those wishing to take coffee outside and enjoy the beautiful garden and sunshine. I was able to sit and read on the deck during the day or enjoy a beverage in the evenings after returning from touring. There is a comfortable sitting room at the front of the house that we used quite often for a quick chat or pondering maps.Location is terrific; away from the main downtown and large hotels but certainly close enough to walk to restaurants, the harbour, or shopping in under 10 minutes. Very easy to walk to some of the attractions (ie The Rooms, the Basilica and Government House and Grounds) or groceries and a pharmacy should you need them.I am usually a hotel person but this experience has encouraged me to rethink that, somewhat. Thanks Rob, Brenda and family for a great stay! I hope to return at some point.

Good location, easy access with electronic combination locks and a nice continental breakfast but not enough seating in the kitchen if all the guests overlap.

Wonderful location- and the Trinity Room was beautiful!! Guidance about St Johns was super helpful. Found ease with checkin and making a reservation. Our host Robert went above and beyond to help us out. Still thinking of sipping a cup of tea on the back terrace…heaven! Breakfast well organized.

My sister and I booked the Elizabeth Manor Guest House for when we planned to hike the East Coast Trail (ECT) this summer. The owner Robert was very flexible and allowed us to drop off a bag of resupply items when we first arrived in St. John's. We hiked for 5 days and then stayed for a night at the Elizabeth Manor Guest House. We resupplied and then again left our extra baggage at the guest house for when we finished the hike. We then stayed for three nights at the end of the hike. The rooms are clean and cheerful. There is a lovely kitchen/dining room and also a sitting room that can be used at any time of day. The deck and gardens are a wonderful place to hang out when the weather is good. The Elizabeth Manor Guest House also has coin operated laundry machines which are invaluable during and after hiking the ECT! An excellent breakfast was available every morning from 7-10 am and the host was available to answer questions and facilitate conversation which resulted in a friendly and relaxed environment. The location is right in downtown St. John's just across from Bannerman Park and a quick walk to Signal Hill, Water Street and Quidi Vidi. I would absolutely stay at the Elizabeth Manor Guest House again.

We spent two nights at the Elizabeth Manor at the end of our road trip across Newfoundland. It is a beautiful older home Rob and Brenda run with obvious care. Self serve check in was seamless. We stayed in the third floor Petty Harbour room which required a good hike up the two flights of stairs. Unfortunately, the first night was a rare muggy, warm one so the room was uncomfortably hot. We were grateful for the fan which we ran all night and we did open windows to get some airflow. One of the window screens was torn but our concerns about letting in flies turned out to be unfounded. The second night the weather cooperated and was much more comfortable. We did also have a problem with the shower drain clogging but Rob was quick to remedy that for us.Breakfast was also self serve and consisted of coffee/juice, cereals, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, fresh oranges, biscuits and toast. We thoroughly enjoyed it both mornings sitting out on their lovely deck.We enjoy walking/hiking so the Elizabeth Manor was walking distance for us to visit Signal Hill (one trail to the Visitor Centre and then on to the Cabot Tower on the way up and the scenic North Head trail on the way home), The Rooms and the historic downtown/waterfront area.

Robert is a great host. A good source of local knowledge and advice. Good central location. Rooms are period with the house, clean and comfortable. Be alert to the stair climb to the upper floor rooms. Large choice of continental breakfast choices. Fresh fruit, various buns and breads, coffee, cereal, eggs. Would stay here again.

The Elizabeth Manor Guest House is such a fantastic place to stay. The moment you walk in the front door you feel at home. We stayed in two different rooms (beginning of trip and end of trip) and were super satisfied with both rooms we stayed in. There was a great variety of choices for breakfast, Rob and Brenda are AMAZING and so helpful and friendly, and we loved how cozy the rooms were. There's also laundry on site which is a nice perk if you need it!

You HAVE to stay here. For a reasonable price you have access to EVERYTHING. It has laundry (coin operated- 2 loonies, 2 quarters) and is a short distance from TONS of stuff. The place felt very cozy and the owners were exceptionally hospitable and kind. We came during the off season so there was so breakfast spread. Instead the owner came to our door and asked us what we would like for breakfast and he would bring it to our room at anytime we wanted! They even took into account any gluten/lactose/ exc. allergies. Come by at anytime of year!

Wonderful historic B&B in St. John's. Stayed 2 nights in beautiful Trinity room. Rob the host is very responsive and helpful. The rooms are super clean with lovely plush towels and great toiletries. The continental breakfast was great. A super place to stay while visiting St. John's. Would definitely recommend.

Yes it's charming and has a great location but are our bed was a trampoline masquerading as a bed and our third floor room felt like an oven. Floors and doors are squeaky which is a problem seeing that some guests have to use a common bathroom at 3 am. Perhaps the other rooms have better beds. To the owners I would suggest investing in new mattresses and AC after all what is most important to most travelers is a good night of sleep.

Fantastic hosts. We arrived late in the evening and were greeted with a welcome note going over all the things we needed to know. Very thought out. We truly enjoyed our stay at this stately manor. It's a fantastic retreat to just relax and get away. Restaurants are close, it's central and the area is beautiful. Rob is your host and he is so helpful and full of good information. We stayed in the upper suite and it's everything you need and then some. This is a 126 year old home so yes there are some quirks but everything works well and is maintained well. They have done an extremely good job taking care of this gem. We plan to travel to other parts of this nation and if we can stay with people as good as Rob and his family then we're going to enjoy our time as much as we did here. Thank you Rob.

The Elizabeth Manor Hotel was just amazing! Thank you for having us on such late notice! The owner, Rob (I believe his name was) welcomed us on a last minute booking and gave us so many great recommendations! George street is in walking distance and super easy to get around. Our room was large, spacious, classy and clean! I loved that it had an old school charm! I also enjoyed your wonderful line of beauty products that were made available to us in our room! In addition to all of this, we made good use of the backyard and we were welcomed to some food in the fridge. It felt like a nice combination of hotel and Airbnb.Thank you again! I will have to come back on my next trip to Newfoundland.-Jennifer from Kitchener-Waterloo , Ontario
